Oxford-Cambridge Boat Race

Published by Thames Rockets 2944 days ago

The Cancer Research UK Boat Races, supported by BNY Mellon and Newton, took place on Sunday, March 27th on the Thames and were broadcast live on the BBC around the world. For the 5th consecutive year Thames Rockets from London RIB Voyages have been the official RIB supplier for the Boat Race sponsors, who in turn donate their title sponsorship of the race to Cancer Research UK. BR16 2 Our day begins once our guides and skippers have fuelled up on their traditional pre-race lunch (this is our kind of super food!). We then collect excited officials and guests from the sponsors at Putney and follow closely behind the Cambridge and Oxford boats with the best seats on the river! BR16 3 This is one the best ways that you can follow and feel like you're really part of the race event its self, as you track the boats along the entire 4.2 mile €˜Championship Course' from Putney to Mortlake, where our guests disembarked to watch the presentations and enjoy the celebrations. BR16 1Boat Race Map Congratulations to both Oxford and Cambridge who shared the spoils across the women's and men's races respectively this year. Here are the chaps from Cambridge enjoying that winning feeling, throw yours hands in the air like you just don't care boys! Screenshot_2016-03-27-16-36-27 You might have even spotted Red Rocket and Rocket One cruising into shot during the live BBC coverage, if you missed them here they are looking resplendent, even if we do say so ourselves! Screenshot_2016-03-27-16-35-05 We look forward to our 6th year supporting the Boat Race in 2017 when Oxford may claim their 79th or Cambridge could pick up their 82nd win. We're ready...
