September will see the launch of a brand new festival dedicated to all things Thames. 'Totally Thames' is a month-long celebration of our favourite river, and will include a spectacular programme of events, from music and arts to colourful regattas, river races, exploration and education activities. There'll be river-inspired fun going on in London's 17 riverside boroughs, too, so you can also get involved without leaving dry land!
Totally Thames has been created by the Thames Festival Trust, led by Artistic Director Adrian Evans, who was the Pageant Master for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee river celebrations. The new festival is an expansion of the Thames Festival concept, which has taken place every year since 1997, reaching a peak in 2012 when more than 800,000 people spent the weekend celebrating the end of the London Games.
The festival will be delivered by the Thames Festival Trust in partnership with London First, the Mayor of London, Arts Council England, London & Partners, dozens of partners in the riverside boroughs, and many other sponsors and supporters. Events take place in Richmond, Kew, Brentford, Hammersmith, Imperial Wharf, Wandsworth, Vauxhall, South Bank, More London, St Katharine Docks and the Isle of Dogs, amongst others.
We're not ones to miss out on any Thames-themed fun, so to kick off the Totally Thames excitement we'll be launching a brand new experience - the Totally Thames Blast! The 15-minute, high-speed blast will see you and your mighty crew board our brand new 'Thames Rockets' at St Katharine's Pier, situated in the shadow of the iconic Tower Bridge. You will embark immediately into the High Speed Zone for a 15 minute blast that will take your breath away! With music pumping through the sound system and in the capable hands of our skipper and crew, you'll be left wanting to do it all again!
Tickets are priced at £22 per adult, or £12 per child. A family ticket (2 adults, 2 children) is priced at £59. The Totally Thames Blast is suitable for all ages; detailed information on who our trips are suitable for can be found here.
