Two London Icons Join Forces

Last week, Thames Rockets welcomed families onboard for a special half term collaboration with Hamleys, bringing together one of the world's most famous toy stores and London's original speedboat experience.

Designed to create a unique adventure for younger explorers, the activation transformed a Thames Rockets journey into a family mission packed with excitement, discovery and entertainment. Guests were welcomed by Hamley Bear before boarding and joined by a Princess and Pirate who helped bring the adventure to life throughout the experience.

The result was a fantastic day on the river that celebrated everything both brands stand for: fun, imagination and creating unforgettable memories.

Three Trips Full of Smiles

Across three departures from London Eye Pier, families stepped aboard Rocket Rebel ready for adventure.

From the moment passengers arrived, the atmosphere was electric. Children were excited to meet Hamley Bear, parents were busy capturing photos and the anticipation built as everyone prepared to set off on their mission along the Thames.

As the vessels travelled through the heart of London, families enjoyed iconic sights including the London Eye, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf before experiencing the famous high-speed section that Thames Rockets is known for.

The combination of storytelling, character interaction and a speedboat experience London created something genuinely different for half term visitors looking for things to do in London with kids.

Creating Memorable Family Experiences

At Thames Rockets, creating memorable experiences has always been at the heart of what we do. This collaboration demonstrated how powerful it can be when two brands with a shared focus on family entertainment come together.

Hamleys has been delighting children and families for generations, while Thames Rockets has spent two decades helping passengers see London from a completely different perspective. Bringing those worlds together felt like a natural fit.

The event also highlighted why London remains one of the best cities in the world for family adventures. Visitors looking for family attractions London can combine history, sightseeing, entertainment and excitement all within a single day.

For families planning future visits to the capital, Visit London offers plenty of inspiration for making the most of a trip to the city.

Looking Back on a Fantastic Day

The success of the Hamleys half term activation was made possible by the enthusiasm of the families who joined us, the energy of the Thames Rockets crew and the fantastic support from the Hamleys team.

Seeing children interact with Hamley Bear, wave to the Princess and Pirate and experience the thrill of travelling along the Thames at speed created exactly the kind of moments the collaboration was designed to deliver.

As Thames Rockets continues celebrating its twentieth year on the river, events like this remind us why we love what we do. Bringing people together, creating memories and showing London from a different perspective remains at the heart of every trip.
