Easter Holidays

The Easter Holidays are coming up, the kids are home for a couple of weeks, the weather is mild so time to get out of the house, explore and make new memories! At Thames Rockets we love a guide, so we've compiled a short compendium of great sights, events and activities to do over the Easter Hols this year. Easter egg hunt at Battersea Park Zoo For the classic Easter activity head over to Battersea Park Zoo who are running Easter egg hunts from Saturday 1st April to Monday 17th April. The eggs are hidden all around the zoo, some even in with the animals (don't worry it's about spotting them not collecting them!). Battersea Park Zoo Thames Rockets Tall Ships Regatta - Greenwich Looking for something a little less ordinary this Easter? Well, Thames Rockets would recommend heading over to Greenwich and checking out the Tall Ships Regatta on Friday 14th April  to Monday 17th April. Expect 30 amazing, historic tall ships, then in the evening a dazzling fireworks display on the water opposite the naval college. On April 12th, 13th and 14th Thames Rockets will be running special trips to view the fire works, book your seats here today! Tall Ships Regatta Thames Rockets Break the Barrier For the kids who are a little too old for an Easter Egg hunt (sad times we know!) and need some more grown up excitement we would recommend our Break the Barrier experience. Our super-speedy (all speed in fact!) experience from St. Katharine Pier is sure to thrill and delight kids (big and small) in equal measure. Break the Barrier thames rockets Where to eat and drink after? We're all about packing in the fun at Thames Rockets, so we'd recommend 'Bill's' restaurant at their Borough Market location. It's a short walk over Tower Bridge to the market made famous in the Bridget Jones films (you can even visit her flat above €˜The Globe' pub!). It boasts a children's menu so full that it's guaranteed to ensure the younger members of the family won't tuck in to your dinner too! Bill's Borough Market Thames Rockets In need of Easter Eggs? Ok, ok, so it wouldn't be Easter without some sweet treats. Well we'd recommend those amazing guys at 'Hotel Chocolat', with three branches close to Thames Rockets at Waterloo, The Strand and near Charing Cross/Embankment. Check out their Easter collection here. Hotel Chocolat Thames Rockets Feeling Crafty? Want to send out some €˜eggstra' special cards this Easter or get all crafty and make your own? Then we'd suggest heading to Paperchase on Tottenham Court Road. The store is HUGE, so if you take a while picking the perfect card make sure you have enough time before your next activity! Paperchase Thames Rockets Thames Hidden Gems Did you know the Thames has a few 'Easter eggs' stashed around it? Sadly few (none in fact) are edible. However we selected our favourites from last years Easter Blog, check them out here. How many did you know of already? rvier thames secrets thames rockets
