Run the River: Tomorrow

Teach First's annual Run the River returns to More London tomorrow (15^th September 2015). Beginning at Potters Fields in the shadow of Tower Bridge, the start and finish lines are in an accessible and iconic location for a post-work (literal) knees-up, while the run takes in the spectacular London skyline at dusk, winding past the Tower of London, Shakespeare's Globe and Tate Modern. The race will see participants walk, jog or run the route past iconic landmarks such, with plenty of options to suit those of varying levels of fitness. Runners are offered the option of 5k and 10k races, so whether you are a serious runner, an occasional jogger, or a Sunday ambler, Run the River is a fun and inclusive way for you to enjoy the event, the view and the atmosphere. Intrepid runners set off at twilight, as the lights of London provided a stunning backdrop. If you're not racing this year, why not head to Tower Bridge to see challengers race along a stretch of the Thames and cheer on loved ones as they raise money for a great cause. All funds raised by Run the River go towards Teach First's work to give every child access to a brilliant education. Last year runners raised a whopping £140,000, enough to offer a full year's mentoring and support to 280 gifted students from low-income homes, helping them to access the best universities and careers. Beryl Kasera, a 2014 runner said: €œThe best thing about the event was beautiful views, historical landmarks, and the party atmosphere.
